Tarari to Accelerate High-Throughput XML-Based Communications Applications at SuperComm 2004 in Chicago

Tarari: XML for Next Generation Telecommunications Services at Switch Speed

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 17, 2004--Tarari Inc., the award-winning acceleration company, will demonstrate its Random Access XML Content Processor (RAX-CP) at SuperComm 2004 in Chicago, June 20-24, 2004 in the CG Mupac booth (Booth 27810). Tarari Content Processors incorporate the industry's first in-silicon implementation of Random Access XML (RAX) to accelerate the processing of XML in many telecommunications applications.
Today's telecommunications industry is confronted with a serious challenge in processing XML at the volume and speed dictated by an ever-expanding communications demand.

Tarari's RAX (Random Access XML) accelerator can be incorporated in PCI or Compact-PCI base systems to offload XML processing and decrease latency, resulting in performance boosts of up to 40x or better. Tarari understands the unique challenges facing telecommunications customers and offers the only single card technology in the marketplace today to process at the rates needed to support thousands of simultaneous calls per second. Now, telecommunications providers can reduce the number of servers needed, while still increasing capacity.

XML is a powerful tool for describing service definition, activation, provisioning, and billing in next-generation communications infrastructure. XML is being used with SIP in CPL (Call Processing Language), SOAP, NOTIFY-SUBSCRIBE applications, and with VoIP and other SIP-wrapped services such as VoiceXML, videoconferencing and network games. XML is also the technology of choice for related data interchange activities such as CDR (Call Detail Record) persistence and billing. RAX-CP is capable of accelerating XML processing in all of these applications.

CG Mupac and Tarari have partnered to provide a number of off-the-shelf and custom-packaged solutions based upon Tarari Content Processors. The two technology leaders will combine Tarari's Content Processor and XML acceleration building blocks with CG Mupac's electronic packaging and integration services to increase the ease of development and deployment, while reducing time to market.

At SuperComm, Tarari will be demonstrating on a CG Mupac 6942X platform, a dual-processor-controlled content server platform that provides the user with fault-tolerant features in a 2U rackmount system for datacom and telecom applications. The 6942X Series includes the Tarari RAX Content Processor in a CG Mupac chassis with an Intel Dual 2.8 GHz Xeon motherboard.

Tarari's embedded XML processors enable emerging infrastructure in a telecommunications industry on the upswing. No longer allocating dollars for simple maintenance or modest upgrades to existing networks, carriers worldwide will invest billions on an entirely new generation of equipment, capable of integrating voice, data and video services to residential and commercial customers.

"SuperComm 2004 is the ideal venue for our RAX technology," said Randy Smerik, president and CEO, Tarari, Inc. "As we've seen in other industries, telecommunication companies have been itching to build applications based on XML messages and documents, but XML processing bogs down their networks. The RAX Content Processor enables commercial-grade, end-to-end processing of XML transactions at wire speed."

"CG Mupac is delighted to offer our customers a high-end server that is 'Powered by Tarari'," said Jessica Isquith, vice president, marketing for CG Mupac. "The distinct performance advantage it offers the communications and other industries is significant."

Tarari will also be signing up additional Communications Early Adopter Partners (EAPs) at SuperComm 2004. To set up a meeting, register at www.tarari.com/supercomm2004.
