McLeodUSA Now Offering New Preferred Advantage Local Voice Packages and Save-a-Bundle Promotion
Provides residential and business customers with customized local service, a choice of features, and bundled services discounts
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 21, 2004-- McLeodUSA Incorporated (Nasdaq:MCLD), one of the nation's largest independent competitive telecommunications services providers, announced it is now offering new flexible Preferred Advantage(R) Local Voice packages for residential and business customers. The company has also introduced the Save-a-Bundle promotion, which provides customers the ability to combine Preferred Advantage Local, Long Distance, and Dial-up or DSL Internet access and receive a bundled discount.
"McLeodUSA is pleased to offer our customers the flexibility to customize their communications solutions and realize the cost efficiencies of bundling services together," said Chris A. Davis, Chairman and CEO of McLeodUSA. "With our new Preferred Advantage Local Voice packages and the Save-a-Bundle promotion, customers can choose the features and services they need, and combine their purchase of services for additional savings and convenience - all on one simple bill, with no fine print and no hidden charges."
As part of the new Preferred Advantage Local Voice packages, McLeodUSA has introduced the new Value Select package, which allows residential or business customers to add 7 advanced calling features to their Local Voice service; all for one low flat monthly fee, with no hidden charges. Customers can select their features from a menu which includes such popular services such as Caller ID, Distinctive Ringing, Call Screening, Call Forwarding, Call Waiting, or even Voice Mail to customize their own local package. Wire Care and 900 Blocking also come with Value Select as standard features for residential customers, which typically carry additional charges from other local providers. As a lower-priced alternative, McLeodUSA is also introducing the Simple Select package for business customers offering the selection of 3 calling features to be included with their Local Voice service.
The new Save-a-Bundle promotion provides residential and business customers with the opportunity to increase their savings with bundled services. Customers can combine Preferred Advantage Local Voice services with Long Distance and Dial-Up or DSL Internet access. The more services they choose, the greater the discount off their monthly service charges for Local Voice. Customers who choose DSL as part of their Save-a-Bundle promotion will also receive a free broadband modem and activation when they sign at least a one-year contract for the Preferred Advantage DSL service.
The Preferred Advantage Value Select, and Simple Select Local Voice packages and the Save-a-Bundle promotion will be available in most markets and central offices within the McLeodUSA 25-state footprint immediately, except in Arizona and Oklahoma, which become available September 1st. Residential service is currently not available in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Montana, and Oklahoma.
