Desktop Computer Sweeney said the county has been opposed to the project and will continue to work with federal leaders like U.S. Rep. Rob Andrews to fight the plan.
Notebooks Haggeman said the dredging project would affect wildlife both on land and in the river, however proponents of the project say the spoils are safe.
Lenovo State Sen. George Geist, who sponsored legislation in the Senate and the Assembly, also has concerns about how the project would affect South Jersey's environment.

"In a South Jersey where we have environmental concerns about our water quality, there should be no more concerns about the Delaware River."
Travelstar Congress has provided more than $50 million for the dredging project. Before the project can move forward, the Corps must get approval from the Delaware environmental agency and an updated coastal management permit from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
