TBCF Presents Distinguished Industry Experts for Panel Discussion of Wireless Data and Mobile Applications Trends and Technology

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 2004--A panel of industry experts will discuss the latest technology for wireless data and mobile applications for local businesses at the Technology and Business Connection Forum on Wednesday, July 21, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at Connexion by Boeing here.
Six Southern California-based executives will explain how wireless data and mobile applications are getting down to business and how providers, developers, hardware manufacturers and end users are seeing that the promise is becoming a reality.

Panel members include Bob Dieterle, chief technology officer, Connexion by Boeing; John Garcia, principal, Angel Strategies; Chris Harrington, vice president of strategy & business development for Toshiba America; Brian Kovalsky, president of Mobile Solutions; Michelle Munoz-Ortiz, West Area data product manager for broadband access, Verizon Wireless; and Ajay Rane, senior technical marketing engineer with Intel's Wireless Networking Group.

According to Jack Bicer, TBCF president, infrastructure and applications are not only catching up, they are leaving the hype in the dust. Listening to their customers, the wireless industry is finding ways for once-competing systems (such as cellular data and 802.11x) to work together to meet business needs. And new technologies from ultra-wideband to fuel cell batteries promise greater efficiencies and reduced costs.

The panel will address the following key questions:

-- Why is it more important than ever before to make the case for mobile data in your business?

-- What steps is Washington taking to assure strong growth in the sector, and what does it mean to wireless companies, developers and end users?

-- What is important to venture capitalists and angel investors, and why is this such an exciting time for entrepreneurs?

-- What mobile applications are out there working right now? And what can we expect to see coming just around the corner?

-- How mobile applications and wireless broadband are literally up in the air.

-- What are wireless providers and manufacturers offering today, who are the trendsetters, and what's coming down the pipe?

The panel discussion and subsequent question-and-answer session will be moderated by David McKnight, CEO of teamMetrx, and sponsored by Business Wire, Daly-Swartz Public Relations and Savvis, with Connexion by Boeing as host sponsor. Admission to the TBCF Forum program is $25 prepaid and $30 after July 19 and at the door. For further information and RSVP, visit www.tbcf.com/meeting.html or e-mail president@tbcf.com.
