Outrigger Gear Guide

Dave Ferrell A subtle click from the left rigger's release clip jerks everyone's eyes around to follow a blur of streaking line, fast disappearing into a huge gush of white water, that a skipping Spanish mackerel once occupied. Two seconds of pandemonium erupt as the captain hurls down orders from the bridge, instructing the mates to clear lines and to get an angler on the rod -- even though his crew is already two steps ahead of the commands. Feeling the sting of the hook, a blue marlin leaves the water in a 20-foot greyhounding leap that elicits shouts of exhilaration from captain and crew alike. The fish is on.
Laptop Battery Many great fish stories owe their start to the soft pop of a release clip on an outrigger halyard, and nothing distinguishes the sport of saltwater fishing from all other angling as does a pair of the ubiquitous outrigger poles. While the look and "attitude" that a pair of riggers give a boat are important, you can't forget what they're there for in the first place: to add width and depth to your trolling spread.
According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.

Laptop Computers There's no doubt that adding a pair of outriggers to any size boat will usually result in more strikes. Riggers offer you the benefit of pulling more baits across a much wider area behind the boat. A typical 25-foot boat usually features an 8-foot beam, and without outriggers the maximum spread you can achieve is limited to barely more than that 8-foot- beam width. If you throw a pair of 15-foot riggers on that same 25-footer, your spread now covers over 30 feet of water. Also, because you have a greater area for your spread, you can run a few more lines. I routinely pull six to eight lines from our 25-foot center-console rigged with 15-foot poles. Try pulling more than four without outriggers and your lines will cross and tangle on every hard turn.
laptop computers is driving strong sales for notebook computers, according to the latest quarterly sales figures from the research firm IDC, which reported a 37% computer sales for the second quarter, compared with a year earlier. In the U.S., laptop sales grew 17.7%, while sales of desktop computers and servers fell 4%. The New York Times ( 10), CNET ( 10)
Laptop Computer In addition to the extra lines you can run, outriggers also allow you to pull retrievable (and adjustable) teasers. While larger boats usually troll teasers from the flybridge, small-boat owners can rig teaser reels under a T-top or clamp them right to the outrigger poles. Reg Ullman, Perko's OEM sales manager, mounts a teaser reel on his gunwale-mount outrigger tubes. "This allows me to run teasers on my 20-foot Grady White," says Ullman, who clamps the reel to the tubes using stainless-steel hose clamps and strips of inner tube to get a better grip and avoid scratching his poles. "I run heavy mono from the reel through the first eye on my outrigger and run a teaser just short of my flat lines," he says.
"Computer industry analysts estimate that some 60 percent of all corporate data exists only on desktop and laptop computers, " said Walter Scott, CEO of Acronis. "Incorporating Acronis True Image with New Mexico Software backup server is the ideal solution to capture that corporate data and ensure that it is not lost. While traditional server backups are effective for protecting server data, every company should have a combination of server and workstation backup plans."

Lenovo For small boats - 15 to 25 feet - you can pick two or three options depending on whether or not your boat has a cuddy cabin or T-top. Small boats without tops have to go with gunwale mounts. Gunwale mounts usually consist of a tubular rigger holder mounted into the gunwale (much like a rod holder) into which the outrigger pole slides. If you don't have room below the gunwale to accommodate the holder due to rod racks and such, you can opt for a mount that sits on top of the gunwale.
Hard Drive Gunwale mounts allow easy access to the outrigger halyards and anglers can take down the riggers with minimal effort when trailering. On the downside, gunwale mounts take up valuable space on the gunwale, and some anglers don't like the fact that you have to pass the rod around the outriggers if a fish makes a charge up the side of the boat.
Travelstar Boats with hardtops or T-tops can accommodate top-mounted riggers, and more and more center-console owners are choosing this option. Top-mounted riggers free up the gunwales for more rod holders and give you 360-degree fish-fighting ability. One thing to remember when mounting a pair of riggers on a T-top: Make sure your top is tough enough to handle the added strain that a pair of riggers will add. According to Brian Lee of Lee's Tackle, "You should avoid putting spreader-bar riggers on T-tops because the added stiffness that the spreader gives the pole creates more stress on the mount. And if your T-top isn't strong enough, it can do some pretty serious damage to the holder or the top."

Software Bamboo riggers have faded into history, replaced nowadays by aluminum, fiberglass and graphite. "The biggest difference between aluminum and fiberglass riggers is the maintenance," says Scott Sneathen of Pompanette. "It's much easier to take care of fiberglass because it's painted. If you don't have a mate to clean and take care of your aluminum riggers, they can be pretty tough to keep looking nice. Fiberglass lasts for years and years, and we've got a pair in our shop now that are over 10 years old that we can repaint and rechrome to make them brand-new." Sneathen also says that fiberglass riggers come apart for transport much easier.
Hard Drives However, aluminum riggers can outlast fiberglass if they are properly cared for, and it's hard to match the look and feel of a quality pair of anodized aluminum riggers. Virtually all sport-fishing yachts over 40 feet feature anodized aluminum riggers with spreader bars to deliver added strength over the length of the rigger. One set of aluminum telescoping outriggers that particularly impressed me are made by SOS Global Products. These 15- to 18-foot anodized beauties collapse down to a mere 6 feet for easy storage on any size boat.
Electronics Graphite poles offer excellent stiffness and at about half the weight of fiberglass poles - are extremely light. So if you're not the strongest guy on the block or health problems keep you from any heavy lifting, graphite poles might be just the ticket. They will run you about 25 percent more money in the larger sizes.
