As chief information officer (CIO) for Carlson Leisure Group, Dave Zitur is responsible for overseeing the continued implementation and development of Carlsons emerging technologies. Those technologies include the groundbreaking consumer travel booking Web site CarlsonTravel.com, Carlsons revolutionary Extranet site Mercavia that directly links the company with each of its franchise locations, and the companys other one-on-one relationship marketing tools. Additionally, Zitur will oversee the groups other advanced distribution channels and manage the organizations E-commerce strategies. In his duties as vice president of finance, Zitur is responsible for directing the financial growth of Carlson Leisure Group, and he is responsible for all operating company accounting policies and procedures, development of the controller and accounting team, planning and acquisitions, and new business development. He reports directly to CLG President and CEO Michael Batt. Zitur also currently serves as acting CIO for Carlson Companies, Inc. (CCI), parent company of Carlson Leisure Group, and recently served as vice president of technology for Carlson Shared Services Company, a division of CCI. Early in 1999, Zitur was named as one of two vice presidents in charge of technology for the newly created Carlson Shared Services Company, where he oversaw financial support, client relations, help desk, workstation services, Year 2000 and Euro programs. From 1997 through 1999, Zitur served as senior director of information technology, in which he was responsible for many of the same functions. In this position, Zitur helped to create Carlsons Year 2000 Program office, which included the development of the methodology, reporting and organizational project structure for the entire enterprise. Zitur joined Carlson in 1995 as the director of information technology planning, in which he led numerous projects including information technology strategic planning, skills development and business planning. In that role, Zitur led Carlsons Internet/Intranet Task Force and Carlsons Technology Architectural Committee. Prior to joining Carlson, Zitur spent ten years with Electronic Data Systems (EDS), where he had most recently served as finance and operational manager of EDS National Car Rental account. While there, he led EDS financial, LAN, telecommunication, help desk and data security departments supporting National Car Rental. Zitur graduated Magna cum Laude, earning a B.S. degree in business administration, from St. Cloud (MN) State University. He has been a certified management accountant (CMA) since 1988. Currently living in Corcoran (MN), Zitur enjoys and participates in most all sports, including hockey, racquetball, tennis, golf and softball. He actively coaches his sons in hockey, baseball and basketball.
