Kelly Moore I've tasted many a windsurfing destination, and I favor a few, but the island I dig most and always dread leaving has to be Barbados. This wave-sailing gem sits at the southeasternmost end of the Caribbean, 100 miles due east of St. Vincent. I can't work out whether it's the relaxed nature of the Bajan people, the outrageous night life, the ease of getting around without renting a car or the enjoyable sailing that has me so hopelessly attached to the place. I guess it's probably a combination of all of the above. But whatever it is, Barbados is appealing enough to regularly lure me back twice a year and, without fail, keep me there for longer than I had planned.

It's always a welcome vibe. I can't wait to go back, although one of these days I fear I may stay for good. Barbados is a dreadful place to leave.
