Sweeney Backs State Funding For Dam Repair

Laptop Battery A bill awaiting Gov. James E. McGreevey's signature would place a $200 million bond question on the November ballot to fund, in part, the repair of dams throughout the Garden State.

According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. Gateway DEP a month before in April classified the dams as high hazard, the state's highest classification of unsafe dams. The dams' owners said they do not have the money to repair the dams, estimated at nearly $750,000 each.

Sweeney; Geist; Joseph Coniglio, D-38, of Paramus; Walter J. Kavanaugh, R-16, of Somerville; and Assemblyman Paul A. Sarlo, D-36, of Wood-Ridge.
