November Hardware Sales Data

November Hardware Sales Data

NPD Group has released the latest hardware sales data for the United States for the month of November 2004.

1) Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP -- 1,000,000
2) Microsoft Xbox -- 708,000
3) Sony PlayStation 2 -- 694,000
4) Nintendo DS -- 480,000
5) Nintendo GameCube -- 350,000

As you can see, Nintendo's Game Boy Advance was the clear leader in hardware sales last month. Even without the DS, Nintendo dominates in hardware sales and continues to dominate the handheld market. The PS2, which is almost impossible to find this holiday season due to a serious shortage of units, lags behind the Xbox (which has been easier to find in stores) in November sales. Interestingly, the hard to get Nintendo DS outsold the GameCube by over 100,000 units in November.
