Naki Spider-Pad for GCN

Naki Spider-Pad for GCN

Laptop Battery What comes to mind when the subject of 3rd party accessories is brought up? Lack of quality, poor design, and undependable? Well my friends, we are finding this to be a thing of the past. The reasoning behind such chances cannot be clearly explained, but once thing is for certain, Naki's Spider-Pad for Nintendo Gamecube is no exception.

While the actual architecture and quality feel of the controller is not as good as Nintendo's, Naki's Spider-Pad does offer some features that Nintendo does not. The controller contains all the same things that Nintendo's does, but it also sports rubberized grips on both handles that prove to be very helpful when your hands start to get sweaty during intense gameplay. Naki's controller also offers a turbo button that can be programmed for each action button individually. The controller also contains a button that has "clr" printed above it. Sadly, I have not yet found any use for this feature. Besides the extra goodies, Naki's Spider-Pad is officially branded with a licensed Spiderman design, which as you can see in the image, looks pretty darn cool.

After the first few hours of gaming with Naki's Spider-Pad, you will be happy to realize that the device works like a charm. It is lightweight, yet sturdy in your hands. The L/R trigger buttons are a bit loose, but it doesn't affect your gaming experience. The D-Pad is actually a bit easier to use than Nintendo's controller, which is great for certain Gamecube games. The cord is standard length for a Cube controller, but to short for my gaming needs. Especially since my TV is higher in the air, which causes my neck to get soar quickly because my head is always looking up.

Overall, Naki has joined the list of semi quality to excellent 3rd party Gamecube controllers. The controller is sturdy, comfortable, and well designed; especially with the awesome Spiderman design. Call me old school or childish, but it feels even better when your using Naki's Spider-Pad to play Spiderman. You can pick up one of Naki's bad boys for a retail price of $24.00.
