Yahoo! Mail Announces Photomail Beta, Providing An Easier Way To Share Photos By E-Mail

Additional Yahoo! Mail Updates Include Availability of More Languages, Integrated Top News Feed, and DomainKeys Indicator

Sunnyvale, CA -- Yahoo! Inc., (Nasdaq:YHOO - News) announced last month the beta release of an innovative e-mail photo sharing feature called PhotoMail, available for free from Yahoo! Mail (http://mail.yahoo.com), a global leader in e-mail and the No. 1 e-mail service in the United States. PhotoMail greatly simplifies the e-mail photo sharing experience by allowing people to insert up to 300 photos into the body of an e-mail, minimizing the worry of exceeding message or attachment size limits. The new PhotoMail feature tightly integrates Yahoo! Mail with both Yahoo! Photos and Yahoo! Image Search.
Yahoo! Mail is also adding six additional languages and new localized sites to make the service available in more languages than any other Web-based e-mail provider, a new customizable "In the News" feature to the welcome page for its U.S. users, and an extension to its DomainKeys e-mail authentication technology to increase consumer protection from spam, e-mail forgery, and phishing scams.

Laptop Battery The PhotoMail feature allows the sender to drag-and-drop images from anywhere on their computer, Yahoo! Photos, or even the Web and insert them as smaller 'thumbnail' previews into a Yahoo! Mail message. PhotoMail messages can be personalized by adding captions and borders to the pictures, and the size and quality of the pictures can be easily adjusted. Through integration with Yahoo! Photos, the No. 1 online photos site in the world, PhotoMail users receive free and unlimited photo storage. People can also insert images from Yahoo! Image Search, the largest index of images on the Web, with more than 1.5 billion images. PhotoMail is another example of Yahoo!'s commitment to provide a truly integrated communications experience where people can communicate with the people in their lives however and whenever they want.

Lenovo * Even more languages -- Beginning in June, Yahoo! Mail will be available in more languages than any other Web-based e-mail provider. As part of Yahoo!'s commitment to reaching more users in more countries, Yahoo! Effective now, Yahoo! Mail has added a tag under the "From" line of e-mail messages based on DomainKeys technology, providing additional information to consumers about the origin of e-mails they receive. The DomainKeys Indicator confirms whether or not the e-mail really does, in fact, come from the expected domain listed in the "From" line. More information on DomainKeys is available at http://antispam.yahoo.com/domainkeys.
