Primus Telecom Launches National VoIP Service to Residential
and Business Customers
TalkBroadband offers low priced, high quality Internet
calls
MELBOURNE, Australia, Mar 06, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Primus
Telecom today announced the launch of TalkBroadband, a new powerful
and feature-rich nationwide Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
service that uses broadband instead of traditional copper
lines.
The new Primus TalkBroadband service dramatically cuts telephone
costs with untimed calls to anywhere in Australia for a flat 10
cents per call. Calls to other Primus TalkBroadband numbers are
free of call charges, and calls to overseas start at 2.7 cents a
minute. TalkBroadband's rates are amongst the lowest in Australia.
Laptop Battery TalkBroadband, which is modelled on Primus' highly successful
broadband phone service, Lingo, in the U.S., is designed to be
simple to use just like the traditional phone service and yet
includes - at no extra cost - powerful features like call waiting,
call forwarding, call return, and last number redial.
DRAPER, -(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, -UCN(TM) (a division of Buyers United(TM) Inc.) ( BYRS), a provider of business telecommunication services, including contact center software applications hosted within its national VoIP network, month software upgrade and technical integration of the inContact(TM) software suite with the national VoIP network acquired in December 2002. This integration enables UCN to move its customer base to the more reliable, redundant VoIP platform as the primary hosting environment for the software suite.
Thinkpad TalkBroadband does not require a user to have a computer because
it's possible to connect the service directly to a broadband
connection. With Primus broadband plans starting at $9.90 a month,
it is economical to consider a broadband connection solely for
TalkBroadband.
This is specifically for purchases on business computers, so if you bought your laptop at Costco, you might not have this service.
Microsoft "TalkBroadband is easy to install and use as a supplement to a
customers' standard telephone," said Primus Telecom Managing
Director Greg Wilson. "You don't have to be a computer wizard."
Some VoIP service providers have addressed the issue by instituting enhanced 911 services, the same as for cellular phone users, but there are still issues that remain. For instance, if a caller is on a VoIP through their laptop computer, or in a different location, the enhanced 911, may not be able to effectively track the computer because they are on an IP network.
Laptop Computers TalkBroadband also offers significant savings for small and
medium businesses, and allows organisations to use a common IP
network to integrate telecommunications and IT systems.
November 20, 2006 Internet voip phone provider VOIP.com announced that it will be adding business voip plans for customers in the future along with its popular residential service plans. About VOIP.com%š Residential Service Plans There are three categories of service plans ( Limited Domestic calling 200 min. per mo. and two pricing options (according to payment frequency) Annual Billing.
Laptop Computer Mr. Wilson said the introduction of TalkBroadband was a landmark
step in the evolution of the
