WebSeries Functionality for BACS Users
New commercial bureau functionality and Hardware Security
Modules extend the reach of WebSeries in the United Kingdom to high
volume payers and collectors
Laptop Battery PORTSMOUTH, N.H. & READING, United Kingdom--(BUSINESS
WIRE)--July 7, 2004-- Bottomline Technologies (NASDAQ: EPAY), a
leading global technology provider of Financial Resource Management
(FRM) software and managed services, today announced the release of
its WebSeries(R) bureau functionality and Hardware Security Modules
(HSM). Both modules have been approved by BACS, the United
Kingdom's automated payment clearing service.
HSMs allow businesses to make transmissions to BACS without local
smart card authorization, which is very important for high-volume
payers and collectors. High-volume users of BACS include the
financial services sector, utilities, and public sector
organizations, which combined collect over 80 percent of the 2.4
billion direct debit payments made each year in the UK. Uniquely,
Bottomline's WebSeries product has been approved to support four
different HSM manufacturers: nCipher, Chrysalis, Eracom and
Thales.
Hypertec has been supplying businesses with memory for PCs, servers and laptops for many years. The company has built on its success in this area of PC enhancement by extending its own product portfolio to include processor and system upgrades, batteries and adapters for laptops. Quality products, supported by quality services, enable users of PC technology to maximize the functionality, performance, value and lifespan of their computers with Hypertec quality solutions!
Thinkpad The release and accreditation of the bureau module extends
WebSeries' use to commercial bureau environments. It also allows
Bottomline to reach businesses that make payments indirectly to
BACS through third parties.
A result of the latest achievements from IBM's 40 years of commitment to speech research and development, the IBM ViaVoice product family provides the most accurate, responsive, versatile, use IBM speech product offerings to date for the desktop software marketplace. Microsoft "Bottomline's decision to support four HSM manufacturers
reinforces our dedication to providing our customers with the
widest variety of solutions to support their business-critical

released early, since high-volume BACS payment submitters are on an
accelerated program to upgrade to BACSTEL-IP by March 2005," said
Peter Fortune, president of Bottomline Technologies Europe.
"Additionally, the new bureau solution allows us to reach the
significant number of companies that use bureaus to connect to
BACS."

According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.
Laptop Computer More than 60,000 companies use BACS to process payments, and
will need to migrate to BACSTEL-IP by December 31, 2005. In
addition, the high-volume payers and collectors who use the BACS
messaging services need to transition by March 31, 2005.
