Cisco Systems Completes Acquisition of SyPixx Networks
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 5, 2006 - Cisco Systems today announced it has completed the acquisition of privately-held SyPixx Networks, Inc. of Waterbury, Connecticut.
On March 7, 2006, Cisco announced a definitive agreement to acquire SyPixx Networks, a provider of network-centric video surveillance software and hardware that enables existing analog video systems to operate as part of an open IP network. With the close of the acquisition, Cisco will be able to deliver the SyPixx solution as part of an Intelligent Converged Environment.
SyPixx's video surveillance products will be part of a new business unit, led by Mark Farino as General Manager, reporting in to Marthin De Beer, Vice President of Cisco's Emerging Market Technologies Group.
