Wave-Gorge/Hi-Tech 8'9" Blaster
Author:
Ken Winner On a 4.0 day, our Maui test venue can have brutal chop. That's one reason the Hi-Tech Blaster was a big hit with the guest testers. Heavily veed and rockered, thin and narrow, it's a loose, easy-turning, highly controllable board - the most controllable board for its length. That said, the same features that make the Blaster controllable make it slow to plane off and a little bouncy on a reach. That's why we put it with wave boards rather than convertibles. Other features: double-screw strap inserts (narrow but good anti-twist), single-position straps, good nonskid, Maui-tough construction.
