Army Corps Will Proceed With Spraying Marsh Reeds

Laptop Battery The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will go forward with a project to eradicate phragmites on a wetlands tract east of Cape May Point.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, lying areas of Hudson and Bergen counties in the Meadowlands, year, $1.9 million computer model on waterways in the region.

Thinkpad Army Corps spokesman Merv Brokke on Monday confirmed the agency will proceed with the plan to kill the marsh reed on a tract of land known as the Lower Cape May Meadows.

Microsoft The decision, following a contentious public meeting last week where there was strong opposition to the use of herbicides, was made after the Army Corps conferred with the state Department of Environmental Protection and local officials in both Cape May Point and West Cape May.

According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.

Laptop Computer Just last week, the Army Corps, after hearing from the public, said it would reconsider the project. Fraser had been willing to reduce the scope from more than 90 acres to just 10 acres. West Cape May Mayor Robert Jackson also raised questions about the project amid concerns the herbicide Rodeo, containing glyphosate, would kill endangered treefrogs.

26 was also the last Army Air Corps pursuit aircraft with an open cockpit, a fixed undercarriage and an externally braced wing.

Desktop Computer Jackson, Fraser and Borough Commissioner Carl Schupp all took part in a conference call with federal and state officials involved with the project. The call included additional information on Rodeo that was not available at last week's hearing. There was also concern that shelving the eradication project could jeopardize a much larger $15.8 million beach-protection project that will fortify the strand in front of the phragmites marsh. The Army Corps is restoring degraded wetlands but also building new beaches and dunes from Cape May to Cape May Point.

Notebooks After the conference call, Jackson said he could live with the herbicide spraying. Jackson said he was shown literature that indicates the herbicide will not do any long-term harm to people.

Lenovo "The long-term benefit of that project supersedes the issue of spraying. The benefit to Cape May, West Cape May and Cape May Point is huge," Jackson said.

Hard Drive Dennis Township environmentalist Ruth Fisher is disappointed the project is going forward. She thought the opposition last week would force officials to kill the project. She said the toxicity of glyphosate was misrepresented at last week's meeting and questioned whether proper notice procedures will be followed before the spraying.

Travelstar "Fisher says something is fishy," Fisher said. "I feel it's grossly unfair. It was clear at the public hearing the public doesn't want it."

Gateway Fisher said people are getting sick and dying from the use of chemicals for outside applications. Fisher is urging those opposed to the use of herbicides to write federal lawmakers representing the region.

Laptop Parts Fraser, however, said the chemical expert for the Army Corps was not able to make last week's information session on the project, and his presence would have made people more comfortable with the use of Rodeo. He said the expert would have explained the chemical has a short shelf life and is being used at a concentration that would not be harmful.

Software "There was nobody there to dispute the concerns raised by the environmental people," Fraser said.

Hard Drives The mayor also said some measurements were taken and they show the herbicide would not be used near any residences. He said it would be used at least 300 feet from Sunset Boulevard, 800 feet from the Fow Tract, and 500 feet from Lighthouse Pond.

Electronics Besides the Army Corps and the state DEP, Fraser said the project has approval from the two major landholders in the area, The Nature Conservancy and Cape May Point State Park, as well as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
