Verizon Targets Small-Business Owners Considering High-Speed Internet Access

Rebates Lower Prices for First Three Months of Verizon Business DSL Service to as Little as $19.95

NEW YORK, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- When small-business owners consider purchasing telecommunications services, cost/benefit analysis often is not enough to make a decision. So Verizon Online is offering the opportunity to "test drive" high-speed Internet access by providing substantial one-time rebates for three months of service for business DSL products.
Customers who order new Business DSL service between now and July 31 can experience Verizon's $59.95 and $79.95 Business DSL packages for as little as $19.95 a month for three months after applying qualified rebates. Both the $59.95 dynamic IP service with up to 3 megabits-per-second downloads and the $79.95 static IP service with up to 3 megabit-per-second downloads feature unlimited remote dial-up access, networking capabilities and 20 megabytes of Web space. Basic DSL service with up to 3-megabits-per-second downloads and a dynamic IP address with no hosting or remote dial-up access, regularly $39.95, is available for $29.95 for the first three months after the one-time rebate.

"This promotional rebate offer is meant to appeal to business customers with differing needs and experience levels," said Mike Lanier, director of Verizon Online for Business. "Verizon's business customers can choose from a variety of DSL speeds and services tailored specifically to the needs of small- and medium-sized businesses. Some will want to host Web sites or allow dial-up access, while others simply need to speed the conduct of business over the Web.

"These rebate offers will appeal to all of them," he said.

Common business uses for high-speed access include research, ordering office supplies, e-mail, exchanging large files, audio and video streaming, video conferencing, multiple users on one DSL line, maintaining a Web site and conducting e-commerce.

"Whether you're a doctor sending confidential data, an engineer forwarding designs or a retailer gathering supplier data, DSL helps get the job done," Lanier said. "A solid productivity lift is one of its top value propositions."

Verizon Online offers business customers both dynamic and static IP (Internet protocol) service. Unlike dynamic DSL, a static IP address gives businesses a permanent IP address for hosting a Web site or an e-mail server, as well as providing virtual private network (VPN) applications for employees who work remotely.

Verizon Business DSL packages require one-year term commitments and include:

* Business-grade technical support available 24/7
* DSL self-installation kit
* 30-day money-back satisfaction guarantee

Business customers can receive a discount on their standard monthly DSL rate if they combine high-speed DSL Internet access with other qualifying Verizon services and select the ONE-BILL option. Additional plans and pricing information are available at 1-888-649-9500 or http://biz.verizon.net/pands/dsl/ . Customers who sign up online receive one month of free service.
