Sana Security Launches OEM Partner Program to Accelerate the Development for Integrated Security Solutions

Intrusion OEMs Primary Response Adding Adaptive Protection to its Security Arsenal

SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 28, 2004-- Sana Security, Inc., a leader in intrusion prevention software, today announced the worldwide launch of its OEM partnership program. The OEM initiative is part of Sana Security's recently expanded Alliance Program that aims to provide customers integrated security solutions with increased protection to ensure availability of critical business resources and reduce operational costs by avoiding the "race-to-patch."
According to a recent survey conducted by Deloitte & Touche LLP, 83 percent of senior security officers at the world's leading financial institutions said their systems had been compromised in the past year, compared with the 30 percent in 2003. In addition, 43 percent of the respondents whose systems were attacked reported lost revenue(1).

Intrusion Inc., (Nasdaq:INTZ), a leading provider of network intrusion prevention solutions for the information driven economy, has recently joined the Sana Security OEM Program. Now Intrusion is able to offer its customers an adaptive security solution that provides an even higher level of protection against today's emerging threats, by integrating the Sana intrusion prevention software with their network intrusion prevention products.

"In order to attain an effective, in-depth security strategy in the wake of today's evolving threats, enterprises need to strategically align innovative and proven technologies with their business processes," said Timothy Eades, vice president of marketing, Sana Security. "Leveraging a multi-level approach to security, one that proactively defends against attacks, offers the best protection for core information assets with predictable cost and resource requirements."

The Sana Security OEM Program enables partners, like Intrusion Inc. and others, to deliver an integrated, multi-layered approach to security. This level of security provides customers the confidence of having advanced application protection through host-based intrusion prevention software (HIPS), regardless of whether it is added to existing security appliances such as firewalls or network-based intrusion prevention solutions, or implemented to harden the OS or security components running within existing application software.

With the industry-leading HIPS component from Sana Security offering proactive protection at the application level, the Program provides OEM partners with:

-- Differentiated products and competitive advantage in the market

-- A unique customer value proposition

-- A powerful marketing, sales and engineering relationship with Sana Security

"The reality is that we are all playing a game of security catch-up against an increasingly electronically-interconnected eco-system," said Jim Hurley, vice president of research, Aberdeen Group. "Without the capabilities needed to actively monitor, prioritize, quarantine, and deflect Internet security threats from attacking and wreaking havoc with where the data resides, it's only a matter of time -- until competitors know as much about your business as you do."

"Primary Response is the ideal addition to our SecureNet Product Family," said Eric Gore, V.P. of World Wide Sales at Intrusion. "Levering this partnership enables us to further increase our commitment to preserve internal security by providing customers complimentary world class solutions at both the network, and now the application level where preservation of data integrity is most viable."

Primary Response is the industry's only host-based intrusion prevention solution developed for enterprises and government agencies that require advanced protection for dynamic, networked servers running standard and custom applications.
