Laptop Computer Hewlett-Packard said that Johnson's exit was already known to the board prior to the deal they cut to oust then-president, Fiorina. HP said they had asked her to stay on through the company's earning's announcement due out this week. Johnson did not give any comment to the press on her leaving HP.

Desktop Computer Apple Computer (Nasdaq: AAPL) said that Johnson would be joining the computer-maker, answering directly to Steve Jobs as the new vice president of worldwide marketing.
Notebooks Johnson's move to Apple comes as no surprise, having worked for the company before. Her decision comes at time when Apple is enjoying worldwide notoriety for its iPod and Mac computer.At Apple, Johnson will be in charge of global advertising.
Lenovo At HP, Johnson worked closely with Fiorina and was referred to as the "prime minister" by insiders there, News.com reported.AdvertisementHPs Chief Marketing Officer, Mike Winkler, told Hewlett-Packard employees in an email Monday that Johnson's departure does not imply any changes to the company's strategy and direction of the marketing function or the company overall, according to News.com who allegedly read the internal email message. AXcess News could not verify that information.
Hard Drive In other news, Unisys Corp. (NYSE: UIS) tapped HP for another marketing executive Monday, Peter Blackmore, former head of sales for HP has joined Unisys to head up sales at the computer services provider.
Travelstar Blackmore worked for Unisys in the past so returning there, like Johnson, was not an unfamiliar move for the sales executive. Blackmore, 57, started with Burroughs Corp. in 1970.
Gateway Unisys was formed out of the 1986 merger of Burroughs and Sperry Univac, two of the early makers of mainframe computers. Blackmore left Unisys in 1986 at the time of the merger.
Laptop Parts "I've known Peter for many years, and I am delighted that we have been able to recruit someone of his caliber to Unisys," said President and CEO Joseph McGrath.Shares of Hewlett-Packard closed Monday at $20.77, down 53 cents, or 2.49%. Shares of Apple closed at $84.63, up $3.42, or 4.21%. Shares of Unisys closed at $8.00, up 12 cents, or 1.52%.
