Symantec CIO to Keynote at Security Leadership Council Conference
Symantec Security Experts In Anti-Spam and Deception Technologies Also Will Present
CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 28, 2004--Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq:SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced that Mark Egan, Symantec's chief information officer, will keynote for the Security Leadership Council Online Conference. Egan's presentation, entitled "The Changing Face of Security," is scheduled for Tuesday, June 29, at 11:30 a.m. ET.
In his keynote, Egan will examine the current landscape of Internet security and how threats have evolved during the last five years, with particular attention paid to the increased speed of propagation and the closing window of time between vulnerability and exploit. Egan will also outline future security trends and steps that public and private entities can take to develop and implement an information security program for their cyber networks.
Symantec security experts Chris Miller and Brian Hernacki will also participate on panel discussions as part of the conference. Miller, director of product management for Symantec's Gateway and Carrier Scan products, will participate on a panel discussion entitled "Comprehensive Approaches For Spam, Viruses & Worms," scheduled for Tuesday, June 29, at 2 p.m. ET. Hernacki, security architect with Symantec's Research Labs, will participate on a panel discussion entitled "Beyond Firewalls - Protecting Your Network From Intrusion," scheduled for Wednesday, June 30, at 2 p.m. ET.
The Security Leadership Council is an online, virtual trade show/conference held four times a year, hosted by Security & Technology Online. The event is open to the public and can be accessed by registering at www.tatevent.com.
