For the initial backup, Time Machine copies the entire contents of the computer to your backup drive. It copies every file exactly (without compression), skipping caches and other files that aren't required to restore your Mac to its original state. Following the initial backup, copying just the files that have changed since the previous backup. Time Machine creates links to any unchanged files, so when you travel back in time you see the entire contents of your Mac on a given day.

Microsoft It is important to be absolutely sure that the course into which you are uploading and restoring content is a blank or default course. The restore process will overwrite (and permanently replace) all data in this course with the data in the backup file. If you have any doubt about the restore process, ask your WebCT administrator or make a backup of the existing course before uploading/restoring the new backup file. Saving the course permits you to restore it somewhere else if you inadvertently restore the backup file over a customized course.

The Enterprise Server and Server for Windows versions allow customers to create an exact server disk image over a network and backup and restore individual files and databases. They also allow the recovery of crashed servers, as well as instant bare metal restores. Bare metal restore applications provide fast, based recovery for enterprise servers, workstations, or desktops by restoring the operating system and data in case of a complete system failure.

Notebooks Click the Browse button to find the zipped backup file (.zip) on your hard drive.

Lenovo After you find the file, double-click it (this automatically puts the name in the WebCT field), and click the Upload button.
Hard Drive Restore the Backup File

Travelstar From the Backup Course screen, select the button next to the file you wish to use to restore the course.

Gateway From the Backup File Functions drop-down list, you may see two restore options: Restore Entire Course; and Restore But Keep Current Student List.

Laptop Parts Select Restore But Keep Current Student List if students have already been added to your course.

Software Select either option if no students have been added to your course.

Hard Drives Some schools may have their WebCT server integrated with a Student Information System. In this case, you will only see Restore But Keep Current Student List.

Electronics You will receive a warning that says, "all information in the course will be overwritten."

Canon If you are sure that this is a blank/default course, or if you have already created a backup of the existing course, click Go.
Desktop Pc The restore process may take from a few minutes to up to an hour, depending on the size of the course and the speed of the server. Please wait until it is finished. When you are shown the screen that affirms the successful completion of the restore process, click Continue to return to the list of backup files. Go to your home page to see the graphics and icons supplied by the publisher. Be sure to update the student view.
Desktop Computers If you encounter any errors, please contact your WebCT administrator. The most common problem that prevents a successful restore is a server time-out.
After your course has begun, you will only want to restore it if a serious problem develops. If you restore a live course, the connection between your students' WebCT IDs and your course will be broken, and they will need to re-add your course to their myWebCT Home area.
