MySQL Expands Partner Program to Support Growing Market for MySQL-Related Products and Services
New Program Provides More Options and Benefits for MySQL Developers, Resellers and Systems Integrators
ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 14, 2004--
MySQL AB, developer of the world's most popular open source database, today announced a new MySQL Partner Program that offers improved support, more options and increased revenue opportunities for the growing ecosystem of independent software vendors (ISVs), systems integrators, value-added resellers (VARs) and developers that support the MySQL(R) database. A highlight of the enhanced program is the launch of a new online MySQL Solutions Catalog, a convenient place for all MySQL users to search and find MySQL-related products and services offered by MySQL partners.
"We wanted to do even more to support our partners and to give them a chance to grow with us," said Bertrand Matthelie, director of alliances at MySQL AB. "Our new partner program offers a chance for any organization supporting MySQL technology to increase their business, from individual developers that join the free MySQL Developer Connection to ISVs seeking maximum MySQL marketing and sales support. The program can give vendors a competitive advantage as they pass on the performance, reliability and cost benefits of MySQL to their end customers."
MySQL today is working with leading technology companies such as Apple, Arkeia, Emic Networks, Intel, JBoss, Novell, SAP AG, SGI and VERITAS Software.
New MySQL Solutions Catalog Open to All
All participants in the MySQL Partner Program have the opportunity to promote their MySQL-related products and services in the new MySQL Solutions Catalog. Placed prominently on the MySQL Web site, the MySQL Solutions Catalog is dedicated to showcasing and providing information on MySQL partner products and companies, including partner news and events. The MySQL Web site gets an average of over 90,000 visitors per day, making visibility in the MySQL Solutions Catalog a powerful benefit for MySQL partners.
Multiple Partner Levels Support Diverse MySQL Community
The enhanced MySQL Partner Program makes it easier and more rewarding for organizations to develop, market and sell their MySQL-related solutions. The program offers four partnering levels for a range of benefits and costs.
MySQL Developer Connection: The entry level to the MySQL Partner Program is offered at no cost and includes membership in the new MySQL Developer Connection or "DevConnect." DevConnect members get visibility in the MySQL Solutions Catalog and also receive MySQL's newsletter and MySQL sales opportunities, among other benefits.
Authorized MySQL Partners: In addition to a MySQL DevConnect membership, Authorized MySQL Partners receive enhanced marketing and sales support, as well as technical support from the experts at MySQL AB.
Certified MySQL Partners: Targeted at both software and hardware vendors and systems integrators, Certified MySQL Partners receive extensive MySQL marketing, sales and technical support, along with access to MySQL logos, prime placement in the MySQL Solutions Catalog and a dedicated account manager.
Strategic MySQL Alliance Partners: This is an invitation-only MySQL partnership level for industry-leading ISVs, services providers or hardware manufacturers who are interested in a customized, strategic alliance with MySQL AB.
"We want to give our customers the option of using the best database for their specific needs, and MySQL can fulfill the requirements of a large number of our customers with great performance and a low cost of ownership," said Frederic Renard, director of marketing and alliances at Arkeia. "By joining the MySQL Partner Program we've been able to show our customers that Arkeia's backup solutions fully support MySQL, and the marketing and sales support from MySQL has significantly enhanced our market reach."
