Thinkpad Yesterday, Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo Jr. delivered close to 500 used cell phones to the Regional School-Essex campus in Newark, a state-run school for children with severe mental and physical disabilities. The school will sell the phones to the FundingFactory, a Pennsylvania company that pays nonprofit groups and schools as much as $5 per recycled phone.

Desktop Computer In addition to the phones collected by the county, two boxes of phones were donated by a pair of Manasquan High School students who read about the jail donation and decided to gather phones as a community service project. DiVincenzo also presented the school with a $3,500 check from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Notebooks Principal Greenfield said she was elated by the donations.
Lenovo "A lot of the students live in high-rises so if they don't go outside here, they don't get to go out," Greenfield said. "The budget covers necessities, but a major project like this is just not in the budget."
