Security & Technology Online's Security Leadership Council
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 29, 2004--MX Logic, Inc., a leading provider of innovative email defense solutions that ensure email protection and security for enterprises, service providers, government organizations, resellers and their customers, today announced that its Chief Technology Officer, Scott Chasin, will be presenting at the Security & Technology Online's Security Leadership Council -- a live, online conference scheduled for June 29-30. The online conference convenes top world security professionals and industry leaders from around the globe to share their views and concerns in roundtable discussions, keynote presentations and live Q&A sessions.
Chasin's presentation will take place from 2-3 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, June 29, during the Cyber & IT Workgroup: Email Security. Comprised of a panel of worldwide email security experts, the workgroup will focus on comprehensive approaches to preventing spam, viruses and worms. Users can register for the event at http://www.tatevent.com/agenda.php.
Chasin, a key pioneer in the development and marketing of Internet messaging and collaboration, will discuss the return on investment when implementing a managed email security service, the impacts of government legislation on anti-spam efforts and the critical role of industry cooperation in improving email security protocols and identity management. Chasin will also talk through a case study about an email security program in action. In addition, Chasin will update conference attendees on discussions that took place at the recent INBOX Email Event, held June 2-4 in San Jose, Calif.
"Threats to email security and communication continuity continue to proliferate. MX Logic alone has blocked more than 500 different types of email-borne viruses and worms in our Threat Center since the beginning of this year," said Chasin. "As businesses feel the pressure of email threats on their networks, email defense initiatives have become top priority for IT organizations everywhere. Enterprises need to leverage a layered approach to security, ensuring that email threats never reach their internal network."
Chasin is credited with inventing Web-based email and delivering the first IP-based, commercially hosted messaging service supporting thousands of businesses and millions of end-users worldwide. Chasin also pioneered early industry efforts in computer security by forming one of the first Internet security consulting firms in 1990. His efforts in information security continued with the creation and moderation of the first full-disclosure security discussion list, Bugtraq. In addition, Chasin was a key contributor to the creation of the first open-source, one-time password system, S/Key. Chasin is a Customer Advisory Council board member for the MSPAlliance and serves on the advisory board of Ping ID Corporation, a leader in identity management and technology.
