According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.

Laptop Computer May 18, 2004 (AXcess News) New York - Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) came clean several weeks ago, admitting that it had hit a stumbling block with its newest microprocessor, which was running slower and hotter than the previous generation of chip.
Keep your laptop running at peak performance with a cool solution from StarTech.com! The internal heat generated by laptop components can weaken system performance and cause instability. Now, with the NBCOOLER you can help maintain safer temperatures and ensure that your notebook computer endures the performance you demand. Designed to work with any laptop computer, four 60mm fans pull heat away from the base of the laptop, allowing for better circulation and dissipation within the computer casing. And, with variable speed settings, you can adjust the fan speeds to better suit the amount of heat being emitted from the computer, at an airflow rating of 40 CFM.
Desktop Computer In a meeting last week with New York analysts to explain why Intel was changing their production strategy, Intel's President Paul Otellini said, "We're ready to move in new directions when we have to."
Notebooks Otellini defended Intel saying that it was making significant progress in dealing with its technical challenges and that business overall was growing stronger.
Lenovo Analysts estimated that Intel would up its expenditures on tooling and facilities by twenty percent in 2005. Officially, the Company will not release figures until January but Otellini gave enough of an insight into the Company's plans that analysts were able to carve out those figures.
Hard Drive As the industry leader, analysts viewed the information in a positive manner, giving rise to a broad based recovery.
Travelstar What caused the alarm was Intel admitting that it was facing an ever increasing problem with heat problems that were so severe it could cause chips to fracture.
Gateway But some believed that Intel's delaying its approach may have left it behind its rivals. The consequences of Intel's change in strategy has yet to be felt, but in the near term it could prove to be an advantage for Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.Advertisement
Laptop Parts ARS, Inc., a subsidiary of Current Analysis, a research firm that follows the personal computer market, reported that AMD had surpassed Intel in the amount of computers sold using AMD chips, with 52% compared to Intel's 47%.Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE: AMD) shares closed up $0.01 Monday to end the session at $13.88. Goldman Sachs raised Advanced Micro's rating to "Outperform" from "Inline" Monday. But some of the equipment manufacturers weren't that lucky Monday with Applied Materials Inc. (NASDAQ: AMAT) and KLA-Tencor Corp. (NASDAQ: KLAC) both falling. AMAT fell $0.09, closing at $18.45 and KLAC fell $0.15, closing at $43.56.
Software Isonics Corporation (NASDAQ: ISON) closed up $0.03, to end the session at $1.49. The Golden Colorado based supplier of silicon-on-insulator wafers may be one of the few semiconductor companies to benefit from Intel's overheating chips.
Hard Drives The problem faced by Intel and other manufactures is that transistors have shrunk so radically that they're only five or six layers of atoms thick. As a result, they have become increasingly porous, permitting electric current (and heat) to leak, even when turned off.
Electronics Isonics produces isotopically pure silicon-28 chemicals and wafers for the semiconductor industry. The technology offered by Isonics could reduce the porous aspect of today's super-thin chips and dramatically reduce the heat loss which causes chips to crack.Recently Isonics announced the acquisition of the silicon wafer manufacturing business and related assets from EnCompass Materials Group Ltd. (EMG) of Vancouver, Washington. The deal is marked for closing in the second quarter.
Canon Through the acquisition of EMG the Company can produce higher margin SOI wafers using Isonics' developed intellectual property, such as its Sigma I process that is capable of transferring silicon layers only tens' of nanometers in thickness.
Desktop Pc The Company also has a subsidiary involved in homeland security. Through its IUT Detection Technologies subsidiary, its technology for neutron-based detection will be useful for identification of explosive and chemical and biological agents.
Desktop Computers James E. Alexander, Isonics' president and CEO said the company was on track to bring its neutron-based detection technology to market in 2005.
Think Pad Alexander would not comment on his company's talks with microprocessor manufacturers.
Repair Isonics was one of four nanotechnolgy companies that participated in an inaugural online Nanotechnology Forum May 7th hosted by Trilogy Capital Partners, Inc., a Los Angeles-based financial services company.AXcess News will be reporting on any new market trends related to this story.
