SafeNet and Digital River Announce Partnership to Integrate
E-Commerce, License Management and Protection Technologies
BALTIMORE, Maryland, March 21, 2005 - SafeNet, Inc. (NASDAQ: SFNT),
setting the standard for information security, today announced a
partnership with Digital River, Inc., a global leader in e-commerce
outsourcing. Digital River plans to expand its licensing and
platform support for SoftwarePassport, its digital revenue
management solution, by integrating with SafeNet's Sentinel LM, a
software-based license management technology.
Digital River's SoftwarePassport technology is designed to enable
software publishers to not only protect their software, but also
market, sell, distribute and track their digital assets across
untapped, global online markets. Through its integration with
SafeNet Sentinel LM, Digital River plans to expand support for its
SoftwarePassport technology beyond the
Windows operating systems to
include the Java, Linux, Macintosh and UNIX operating systems.
More specifically, Sentinel LM will enable Digital River to
meter the number of software licenses generated, activated and
delivered to a user across multiple software platforms.
Additionally, Digital River will be able to provide users a
convenient and seamless "pay-as-you-go" plan for making add-on
license purchases. The multiple platform version of
SoftwarePassport is scheduled for release during the spring of
2005.
