GDC: Iwata Keynote The Revolution
Laptop Battery During his keynote speech at the Game Developers Conference today, titled "Heart of a Gamer," Satoru Iwata spoke about Nintendos next console, known as Revolution.
Iwata said that Revolution will feature built-in Wi-Fi, allowing users worldwide to connect with each other wirelessly.
Iwata also said that the Revolution will include backwards compatibility (GameCube), and is on schedule.
Iwata spoke about the technology behind Revolution. The heart of Revolution will be a processor, codenamed Broadway, developed by IBM, and an ATi developed GPU codenamed Hollywood The two chips, according to Nintendo, "are being designed to deliver game experiences not possible to date."
Iwata also spoke about Nintendo's passion to improve gaming. "This is Nintendos plan: make our existing game world better. For us, this is a passion. This is a mission of adventure," Iwata said.
