James Lubinski, named executive vice president of Operations in August 1999, is charged with the creative development of new and improved product solutions to meet the needs of Galileo International customers worldwide. Jim ensures that Galileo maintains a strong technological leadership in the marketplace - from product idea generation and development to successful operational launches. Jim also directs the creation and maintenance of high-quality information processing systems and the management of one of the world`s largest data centers, which has an up-time performance record of better than 99 percent. Previously, he served as senior vice president, Information Services and Operations. Jim is a recognized leader in the information technology (IT) industry. He was recently chosen as one of Computerworld magazine`s Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2000. He also served on Beyond Computing magazine`s 2000 Executive Forum. Jim joined Galileo after serving as senior vice president and division head of Systems and Operations at Boatman`s Trust Company in St. Louis, Missouri, where he was responsible for developing and managing trust information systems and operations functions. Previously, Jim held several technical and managerial positions at NBD Bancorp in Detroit, Michigan, leading the organization to national prominence in the profitable use of information systems technology. Jim serves in key leadership positions for two of Galileo`s subsidiaries. He is chairman of TRIP.com, a leading online travel service and technology developer based in Englewood, Colo., as well as chairman of Quantitude, Inc., a new global telecommunications network services provider, also based in Englewood. He is also a board member of IGT Solutions. Jim serves as an advisor on the Colorado Governor`s Commission on Science and Technology. Jim earned a bachelor`s degree in mathematics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Mich., and a master`s of business administration in finance from Wayne State University in Detroit.
