He is responsible for MySQL's worldwide professional services organization, which includes customer support, training, consulting and certification programs. Sandberg works from MySQL's Silicon Valley office.

Sandberg is a 20-year veteran of the professional services industry. Prior to joining MySQL, he was vice president of professional services at Finaplex, an enterprise software company in the global financial services market. Before that, he was vice president, field services, at Marimba, where over a period of five years, he played a critical role in helping grow the company from start-up to a successful IPO. Sandberg has also held engineering management positions in U.S. and European companies since he received his MSEE from Lunds Institute of Technology, Sweden.
