Think Pad Senate Minority Leader Leonard Lance, R-Hunterdon/Warren, said the bill raises issues of government intrusion on private property rights. He said lawmakers could challenge the bill if it goes to the budget committee, a must for all legislation that involves a spending increase.
Repair Democrats in the Legislature have ended the practice of mandatory financial statements for legislation, making it impossible to discern a startup price tag. Once operational, the program would be self-funding.
Data Recovery "I believe it would have to be analyzed thoroughly and I don't like the idea of trip damages," Lance said. "Any measure that's going to require new funding, even seed money, must come through the budget committee."
Cisco Jeff Tittel, director of the New Jersey Sierra Club, defended the measure though his group opposed the $200 million bond question.
