HP Ranked Among Ten Best Web Support Sites
PALO ALTO, Calif., May 5, 2006 -- HP today announced that the Association of Support Professionals (ASP) chose its consumer support website as one of the "Ten Best Web Support Sites of 2006" from more than 50 entries.
The award recognized three enhancements to HP's online support that make finding help online easier and faster:
* The Automatic Product Detection Tool, which identifies customers' specific product models and takes them directly to the support pages or content for their products;
* The HP Technology Center, a suite of websites dedicated to the top issues PC customers face; and
* The HP Printer Check, a tool that updates out-of-date printer drivers.
"Millions of consumers turn to the Internet for help each month; in fact, it is the fastest growing area of our business," said Bob Weis, vice president, Customer Operations - Americas, HP. "It's an honor to have the ASP recognize our work in creating a compelling online support experience."
The ninth annual "Ten Best Web Support Sites" competition evaluates excellence in online service and support. A panel of judges used 25 separate performance criteria, including: overall usability, design and navigation; knowledge-base and search implementation; personalization; and, interactive features.
The 10 winning sites will be profiled in a book called "The Ten Best Web Support Sites of 2006," to be published by the ASP in June.
HP's consumer support site gives consumers access to troubleshooting content, software updates and driver downloads by product line; offers top issue frequently asked questions, or FAQs; enables customers to check the repair status of their products, register products, sign up for software and driver update email notifications, chat with or email an agent directly, and more.
