I drive a 1984 Toyota Corolla. My grandma gave it to me when she broke her hip. It still kinda smells like her. I also wear a mint green shirt that belonged to my grandpa. His name is embroidered on the tag. "M. Kvidt." My favorite shirt used to belong to my big brother Tim, but I stole it from him.

"Computer industry analysts estimate that some 60 percent of all corporate data exists only on desktop and laptop computers, " said Walter Scott, CEO of Acronis. "Incorporating Acronis True Image with New Mexico Software backup server is the ideal solution to capture that corporate data and ensure that it is not lost. While traditional server backups are effective for protecting server data, every company should have a combination of server and workstation backup plans."

This column isn't going to have any deeper meaning, no symbolism. I won't be lashing out at any one group of people, or at every group of people. There is nothing in this brief rant that isn't right there on the surface. Don't read between any lines. There are only lines.
And then, of course, we have the Standalone Server product, which is called Acronis True Image Server for Windows or Linux and that will manage a single standalone server. What type of computers can we back up, because in a medium to a large sized, even some small sized businesses, who knows what kind of computers they have They may have laptops, they may have desktops, they may just have anything and everything

I like stuff. Ask anyone who knows me. I collect it, I keep it, I go out and search for it. In my 21 years on this earth, I think I've thrown about six things away, four of them were broken beyond repair, and beyond all future use, one was evidence for minor felony I was accused of back in the mid-'80s (of which, I might add, I was justly acquitted). The other was the first (and last) Michael Bolton CD I ever owned, from whose loss I still haven't fully recovered. Everything else I've owned I still have-somewhere.

As a result of this extreme case of packrat-itis, everywhere I've lived is overflowing with my stuff. Now, just because I don't ever throw anything away does not mean that most of my stuff sucks, because I do get rid of it. I just "recycle" it.

The way this works is I have item A. Let's say it's a pin with a big green egg from the 1992 Alien 3 premier, stuck on my backpack. Pretty crappy, eh? Now what I do is I accidentally (and by accidentally I mean purposely) drop the pin in the caf. A few days later somebody else stumbles upon my lost button, considers it a found treasure and puts it on their bag.

Item A is now recycled into the world of somebody else's stuff until it either a) comes into the possession of an un-packcat (which is of course the opposite of a packrat) and they throw it away or b) the item goes the way of those six things I threw away and is destroyed beyond all recognition.

I'm sure by this point you're all asking yourselves a few questions. How do I decide what stuff gets kept and which stuff I "lose"? Do I pick up every piece of garbage I find, or just certain choice articles? How long can this column possibly go on? Am I gay?

Almost everything I own has a history. A few things I own are new, fresh out of the box, but usually these are my least favorite items. My most important possessions are probably worthless at any pawnshop in the world, but that's why they're mine. They belong to me so much that nobody else would ever want them in a million years. Some of my stuff might even be mistaken for junk. Admittedly a lot of it looks kinda dingy, but usually the shabbier something is, the more of a story it has.

I guess what I'm saying was best summed up by Adam Sandler. We're living in a material world, and I am a material girl-or boy. Think about your stuff. Can you tell at least one story about everything you own? And if you're one of those people who really cares what the label on your clothes says, I'd say go with "M. Kvidt" rather than "J. Crew".
