Pre-E3: GameCube Peripherals At E3
1up.com has managed to translate an article in the Nihon Keizai Shimbun. Citing confirmation with Nintendo's public relations office in Japan, the newspaper confirms that Nintendo is planning to debut new hardware accessories for the Nintendo GameCube system at the upcoming trade show E3.
This isn't the first time we've heard of peripherals for the Cube, in fact, it was due to a mix up involving the Shimbun paper a few months ago - where in they mistakenly printed an article saying that Nintendo would be quiting the hardware business - that led to the revelation.
The Shinbun this time says the peripherals will not simply expand the GameCube's current capabilities, but in fact add new ones as well. Nintendo likened it to Sony's Eyetoy in that regard - while making sure to characterize the Eyetoy as "another company following in our footsteps at last."
We will be certain to keep you updated from the show floor at E3 regarding all new hardware from Nintendo.
