Webmethods Fabric 6.5 Announced At Gartner Application Integration And Web Services Summit
Technology advancements address growing corporate emphasis on business process productivity
GARTNER Application Integration and Web Services Summit 2005, Los Angeles, Ca. - April 18, 2005 - webMethods Inc. (Nasdaq: WEBM), a leading business integration and optimization software company, today announced the latest release of webMethods Fabric, the first integrated product suite to improve corporate performance through increased business process productivity. webMethods Fabric 6.5 offers several industry-leading features to accelerate the delivery of business applications to the business, as well as delivering patent-pending technology to enable unprecedented real-time visibility and predictability into the business processes of an enterprise.
Companies today are looking for more effective ways to close the gap between business requirements and IT execution. They recognize the need for an alternative to custom software development and monolithic off-the-shelf packages, said David Mitchell, president and CEO, webMethods, Inc. These traditional approaches simply dont deliver for the business fast enough. We introduced webMethods Fabric last October as a new kind of platform for leveraging existing IT investments to integrate, assemble and optimize mission critical business processes. webMethods Fabric 6.5 dramatically accelerates the delivery of these applications, and the intelligence that is built into the system provides organizations with an unmatched ability to know what is happening in their business now and to predict what is coming next.
webMethods Fabric is the only integrated product suite on the market to incorporate all the functionality required to deliver on the promise of Business Process Productivity. Built on a platform of standards and a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), webMethods Fabric provides a unified solution that allows companies to:
* Increase efficiency, by integrating business processes and applications, and by connecting with trading partners, while at the same time and with no additional effort, creating an inventory of reusable assets from their existing systems to accelerate subsequent initiatives.
* Increase agility, by enabling the rapid assembly of new business processes or modifications to existing processes to support the business as it changes; this ability includes the creation of user-centric composite applications that allow end users to participate productively in the changed business processes.
* Increased control over their operations, by providing real-time information about key business performance indicators along with the intelligence required to optimize business processes and react quickly in response to changes in business activity levels.
By relying on webMethods service-oriented architecture we are leveraging the services that we have built over the last 5 years to streamline business processes, cut down cycle time on delivering new applications and services, and be responsive to the needs of our customers and partners. webMethods is vital to helping us achieve our goal of being an agile enterprisefaster, said Angi Bensinger, vice president, Enterprise Distributed Engineering, KeyBank.
webMethods is the only major integration vendor to incorporate Web services management and monitoring in its core solution, enabling customers to realize the full benefit of an enterprise-scale SOA.
