The Survey found that 61% of Americans listed lack of money
as the top cause of holiday stress followed by the pressures of
gift giving, lack of time, and credit card debt. Survey results
also show that younger Americans are more worried about lack of
money and gift giving compared to people over the age of
35. laptop computers
Here is one solution that can be very effective and a major
stress release for those involved: put a limit of the dollar
amount that each person in a family has to spend! I know of a
family that has nine members, and they all look forward to the
Christmas Holidays. Four of them are retired and live on a
fixed income. Four of them are still working, and one is a nine
year-old girl. Each and every year since they can remember,
they all went out and bought everyone in the family an
individual present. Eight presents in total...a present for
each one of them! laptop computer
Just think of the financial toll this can take on everyone.
How much to spend for him, her, them Is it enough Too much Too
little Well, there s a very simple solution to this
problem. Write a letter to each one, or speak to each one
personally and suggest that it might be time to pool
everyone s resources. Do what this family did. Take a sheet
of paper and write all of the names of your family on it. Then
cut them out and place them all in a hat. Have one person (a
child perhaps) pick them out name by name, and list them 1
through 9. Put the names back in the hat, and pick them again.
Match the names to the same order they were picked, and those
two persons will have to buy the other a gift. desktop computer
Now, put a limit on the amount of money spent. This family
started out at $100 each, then debated it down to $50 and then
all settled on $25. You could almost see the inner relief on
all involved. It s amazing how creative you can get
on just $25.00 said one of the family. She went on
Now, the biggest treat is to see who was the most
creative! There is just one thing all members agreed on
Each of us can still buy the nine-year old all the
presents we want. This seems to make everyone very
happy. notebooks
Now that we have alleviated a lot of financial stress, lets
deal with Holiday Stress: Medicate or Meditate
This from Maharishi Vedic City in Iowa: Research shows
that for many people the holiness of the season is shadowed by
anxiety and depression, alcohol and substance abuse, domestic
violence, and even suicide. To cope with this stressful time
more and more doctors are offering up a surprise prescription:
meditation. lenovo
Americans in astonishing numbers ome 20 million, according
to a recent issue of TIME ave already taken up the advice.
Stress-busting meditation is now in books and tapes, schools
and colleges, yoga centers, hospitals, businesses
verywhere. hard drive
I would like to strongly suggest that you look into a
meditation program, if you haven t already. There are both
religious and non-religious programs available. They can easily
be found in the Yellow Pages, or ask a friend, relative or your
clergyman/woman. travelstar
Now, onto our final headline: I promise you, that if you
have taken the financial advice and the meditation advice, this
will be a breeze :) Happy Holidays to you all, and of all
religions...may peace be with you 2005

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration continues to warn
consumers not to eat any Peter Pan peanut butter purchased
since May 2006 and not to eat Wal-Mart house brand Great Value
peanut butter with a product code beginning with 2111 purchased
since May 2006. hard drives
Both brands with that code were made in a Sylvester, Ga.,
plant run by ConAgra Inc. of Omaha, Neb. And four jars of both,
according to the CDC, tested positive for salmonella.
Opened jars from people who were sickened in New York, Oklahoma
and Iowa tested positive for salmonella, Dave Daigle,
a spokesman for the CDC told the Associated Press.
Now the question becomes, how did the salmonella get in
the jar, Daigle added. electronics
A spokeswoman for the Oklahoma Department of Health said the
state had recovered seven peanut butter jars from 11 cases
confirmed by the state, and had found salmonella in at
least one, AP reported. canon
And in Iowa, a Department of Health spokesman said there was
a positive match in one of the state s six confirmed cases.
Gary Rodkin, chief executive of ConAgra, issued a news release
Thursday saying that the company will take all reasonable
steps to remedy the situation. We are truly sorry
for any harm that our peanut butter products may have caused,
Rodkin added. Health officials suspect the contamination
may have been caused by dirty jars or equipment because the
peanuts are usually heated to high-enough temperatures during
the manufacturing process to kill bacteria. desktop pc
ConAgra announced that it has added extra capacity to its
toll-free Consumer Affairs hotline (866-344-6970), which is set
up to respond to consumer questions and concerns. Callers can
also apply for refunds for products covered by the recall. desktop computers

Researchers zero in how to succeed the next time By

FRIDAY, Feb. 23 (HealthDay News) -- About one in three
American adults is trying to lose weight at any given time, and
while their track record for trying is good, their track record
for succeeding is not. keyboard
Within five years, most dieters will regain the weight they
lost. And, after five years, they may even weigh more than when
they started the original weight-loss effort, some studies have
found. But weight-loss researchers have begun to uncover
insights into what makes some dieters succeed while others
fail. While there are no hard-and-fast rules that work for
everyone, there are ways to maximize your success the next time
you decide to drop those excess pounds -- maybe for good. monitor
A strategy for success begins with getting realistic,
experts say. Cause number-one [for failure] is setting
too unrealistic of goals, losing too much too fast, said
Barbel Knauper, an associate professor of psychology at McGill
University in Montreal. Instead of trying to lose, say, 15
pounds in a month -- very unrealistic -- most experts suggest a
slow, steady loss, about one or two pounds a week. desktop
Another pitfall, Knauper said, is a lack of advance planning
before social situations. If people were making
when, where, how plans, they would be more likely to
adhere to their goal, he said. For instance, you might
say to yourself, When I go out for dinner tonight with
friends, I won t order a large entree, but a smaller one.
And I ll stick with my choice even if they pressure me to
eat more. infosys
