Wizz Delivers Advanced Wireless Services for Business Customers
with Cisco Wireless Solution
SYDNEY, Australia, 19 May 2005 - WiZZ Communications, a wholesale
service provider, has deployed Cisco Systems wireless and other
networking technology to create a leading wireless network for
business. The network allows Wizz's service provider customers to
deliver advanced services such as e-learning and videoconferencing
and to reach end customers outside metropolitan areas.
The WiZZ network, based on Cisco equipment, delivers
quality-of-service (QoS)-enabled, managed wireless connectivity for
its clients such as retail service providers and Internet service
providers (ISPs). Through the deployment of Cisco Aironet 1300 and
Aironet 1400 series wireless bridges across the Sydney, Brisbane
and Melbourne metropolitan areas, Wizz can provide data rates of up
to 100 megabits per second over the 802.11 standards-based wireless
spectrum to sites that are out of reach of traditional optical or
digital subscriber line (DSL) connections. The Cisco Aironet Family
of wireless devices is designed to be fully compliant with the
Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) 802.11a,
802.11b and 802.11g standards for wireless networking.

Laptop Computer About WiZZ Communications
Mac OS X v. 10.2 (called Jaguar) or later (meaning 10.3 Panther and 10.4 Tiger) includes a program for the Apple AirPort system, called AirPort Software Base Station. based wireless Base Station in one of the computers on your network. Other computers on the network with wireless network adapters can access the Internet through the Base Station software. Again, the computer that's running this Base Station software has to be turned on for the other computers in the wireless network to gain access to the Internet, and this Base Station computer is affected by the same performance degradation as in the preceding scenario.
