ICEsoft's ICEbrowser Integrated into Jive Live Assistant

Next-generation Online Chat Provider Adopts the Leading Java Browser SDK

CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 28, 2004--ICEsoft Technologies Inc., the leading provider of Java browser and Java Web access software, today announced that Jive Software, the leader in collaborative support software, has adopted ICEbrowser(R) SDK for integration with Jive Live Assistant, a product that facilitates real-time conversations with customers from a company's Web site.
By integrating ICEbrowser SDK into Live Assistant, Jive Software is able to provide cross-platform co-browsing, which means that agents can assist customers in navigating through Web sites. Each page visit and event performed by the agent is replicated on the customer's computer.

The ICEsoft SDK's extensive API allows Live Assistant to closely integrate with other Jive Software applications (Jive Forums and Jive Knowledge Base) and third party applications, such as CRM systems and content repositories. And unlike competing products, both ICEbrowser and Jive Live Assistant are 100 percent pure Java applications, greatly increasing their stability and performance.

"We evaluated a lot of other browser components, and ICEbrowser was by far the most stable," said David Hersh, CEO of Jive Software. "And the technology is completely customizable, so we can render customer support sessions across a wide range of clients and environments."

Jive Live Assistant routes incoming chat requests to the appropriate agent (or group of agents) based on numerous variables, such as product area, language or support level. The product is built on the open IETF standard XMPP protocol, making it the only open standards-based live support product on the market. The selection criteria for a browser component included high availability and performance, seamless product integration and open standards.

"After studying all our options, it was clear that ICEsoft offered the most effective open standards product," said Hersh. "We have just scratched the surface on robust thick client/thin client integration that this product gives us."

"The selection of ICEbrowser SDK by Jive Software, a technology innovator that has clearly demonstrated the powerful potential of Java technology in collaborative support software, underscores our position as the company offering the most proven, extensible, browser technology that supports the latest Internet standards," said Robert Lepack, director of business development, ICEsoft Technologies. "Jive Software provides quality enterprise software solutions and we are pleased that they have chosen ICEsoft Technologies as the technology vendor of choice."
