DETERMINE Expands Product Offering with the Release of an Installed "Behind-the-Firewall" Version of Its Contract Management Solution
Leading Enterprise Contract Management Solutions Provider Releases NT-Based Version with Plans to Release HP-UX and Linux Environments Over the Next Several Months
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 11, 2004-- DETERMINE Software, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise software for managing contractual relationships, today announced the release of DETERMINE 'Enterprise' Edition, an installed version of its leading contract management solution. This new offering complements DETERMINE's existing 'OnDemand' Edition, a network-based hosted solution, giving companies the flexibility to choose between different deployment options. In addition, DETERMINE also announced enhanced licensing models to support both subscription and perpetual based pricing.
"The way in which companies license and deploy software solutions is continuing to evolve, and DETERMINE wants to ensure that we provide our customers with the choice that makes sense to them," said Richard Kreysar, president and CEO of DETERMINE. "Our 'OnDemand' solution allows customers to get up and running quickly, with minimal costs and risk, and as contract management becomes more of an integral part of companies' supply chain processes, companies can choose to bring the system in-house where they can further integrate it into their existing processes and systems. With DETERMINE, our customers get the benefits of both worlds."
DETERMINE 'Enterprise' Edition
The DETERMINE 'Enterprise' Edition offers an installed behind-the-firewall option allowing companies to install the complete DETERMINE solution inside their internal application environment. The DETERMINE 'Enterprise' Edition supports a number of open server and database environments. The system is easy to install and configure and can be up and running in days, rather than months. The system provides a fully web-service enabled architecture allowing it to easily integrate to existing ERP systems, such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Lawson and others. For ongoing access to upgrades and support, the application connects directly to the DETERMINE Application Network and provides software maintenance through an authenticated proxy to the server.
"Because our solution is built as a pure server-side Java application, it is very easy for us to port it between environments, while ensuring optimal security and performance," said Jamie Taylor, CTO of DETERMINE. "In addition, our component-based design makes it easy for customers to migrate their custom templates and workflows between any of the supported hosted or installed environments."
DETERMINE 'OnDemand' Edition
A network-based, fully hosted solution offering that gets companies up and running in days, instead of months. Unmatched for its performance and reliability, the DETERMINE Application Network provides a secure, private 24X7 environment that is hosted and maintained in conjunction with IBM Network Services. Leveraging the latest in web-service design, there is no limitation to your ability to brand, customize and integrate the solution into your core application environment. The DETERMINE Application Network is run from a high-security data center managed by IBM. The maintenance, operation and upgrade of all system services is handled by DETERMINE and IBM administrators.
Evolutionary Deployment Approach
DETERMINE provides the perfect evolutionary approach to rolling out a successful enterprise-wide contract management solution. Using DETERMINE's 'OnDemand' Edition, companies can quickly go live and take control of their contracts, without requiring expensive and time-consuming installations. And, as they choose to expand their deployment, DETERMINE 'Enterprise' Edition allows them to easily move the system behind their firewall to enable broader integration of contract processes into their overall supply-chain infrastructure. The first release is being delivered on an NT-based platform, utilizing a pure server-side Java application. DETERMINE also has announced plans to release HP-UX and Linux-based environments later this year, with additional configurations to be supported based on market and customer demand.
"Motivated by both Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and by an ongoing drive to improve the costs and performance of their strategic business relationships, companies are continuing to move contract management to the top of their IT priority list," said Jon Corshen, VP Marketing of DETERMINE. "But in today's more conservative software environment, companies want an effective and pragmatic way to adopt new solutions. Our flexible pricing and delivery options, along with our industry leading solution, provides our customers with a clear and pragmatic path to success."
