Desktop Computer To upload and unzip files into WebCT:

  1. Notebooks Log in to your WebCT course.

  2. Lenovo From the Course Menu, select Manage Files.

  3. Hard Drive From the Actions column on the left, select Upload.

  4. Travelstar Locate the file to upload by clicking the Browse button; then choose the ZIP file located on your hard drive. Make sure the Destination folder is set to My-Files, then click Upload. Note: Always upload TestGen files into the My-Files folder.

  5. Gateway Locate the ZIP file in the Manage Files list, and select the checkbox to the left of the filename. Then click Unzip from the Actions column on the left.

  6. Laptop Parts Choose My-Files as the destination folder. Then click Unzip.

  7. Software WebCT unzips the files to a subdirectory you specified during the TestGen export process. For example, if you typed demo_test as the WebCT directory name, the program unzips one or more .txt files into My-Files/demo_test. The program places any supporting .gif image files in My-Files/demo_test/imagefiles. You can delete the .txt files after you import the questions into the WebCT question database. However, the images must remain in this location.

Hard Drives Importing Questions into WebCT

  1. Electronics From the appropriate area of your course, select the link to the Quiz/Survey Tool. Refer to the WebCT Help for instructions about adding a link to this tool if necessary.

  2. Canon While in the Designer Options view, select the Question Database option.

  3. Desktop Pc Click Import Questions From File.

  4. Desktop Computers Click Browse to locate the files you uploaded.

  5. Think Pad Locate the My-Files folder, and open the folder for the questions you want to import. Select the text file you want to import, and then click Add selected.

  6. Repair The question text files are located in a folder that corresponds to the WebCT directory you provided during the export process. Choose the fileyouspec.txt file if you selected the option to place all the question types in one category. If you specified a unique file for each question type, you will see several files (e.g., mc.txt, tf.txt, etc.) in the folder. Select any one of those files.

  7. Data Recovery Review that all of the questions from the file are on screen, and click Continue. Make sure to click the Continue button just once. At this point, your questions are now in the question database. Repeat the process for each text file you upload.

Keyboard Refer to the WebCT Help for instructions on creating a quiz or survey. When creating the quiz, you can view and select questions based on the Category Name you supplied when creating the ZIP file with TestGen.
