Laptop Battery The projected economic benefits of the stalled Delaware River deepening project have slipped a little further under a new Army Corps of Engineers analysis.
According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.
Thinkpad The Army Corps performed the analysis after questions were raised by Maritrans, a company that lightens ocean-going oil tankers at the mouth of the bay and brings portions of their cargoes to refineries farther up the river. The process is known as lightering.

Notebooks Under Army Corps guidelines, a project must produce a National Economic Development benefit for it to receive federal funding.
Lenovo The Army Corps sees the newest analysis as confirming the economic justification for deepening the river. But, for now at least, it is mostly an exercise in number-crunching. The deepening project continues to face significant hurdles.
Hard Drive A hearing officer for the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control recently recommended rejection of a permit the Corps needs to deepen the channel in that state.
Travelstar The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection last year also revoked a key permit. It requires the Army Corps to demonstrate that the disposal of sediments from dredging at South Jersey sites is consistent with the state's coastal zone management program.
Gateway Because of these problems, Congress and President Bush have not provided funding to start the project.
Laptop Parts "The project can't go to construction right now," Voigt said.
Software The Army Corps at one point had projected that a deeper channel, by allowing bigger ships to come upriver, would provide $1.40 in benefits to every $1 spent.
Hard Drives But a federal General Accounting Office review of the project released in June 2002 determined the project would actually lose about 50 cents for every dollar spent. It said the Corps used miscalculations, invalid economic assumptions and outdated information in its initial analysis.
Electronics This led to a new Army Corps analysis six months later that revised the estimated benefit to $1.18 to $1 ratio.
Canon The Army Corps is now projecting the total cost of the project at $264 million, up from its $252 million estimate in 2002. The increase results largely from upgrades needed to reduce diesel pollution from dredge boats.
Desktop Pc The Army Corps initially estimated the project would cost $311 million but revised the estimate two years ago after conducting more detailed surveys of the river bottom.
