Telco Systems Introduces Integrated Access Device to Support
Carrier Migration Strategy to Enable Provision of VoIP, IP Centrex,
IP Data Services to Business Customers
FOXBORO, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 21, 2004--To support carrier
migration strategies from circuit-switched to packet switched IP
services, Telco Systems today at the SUPERCOMM telecommunications
trade show booth 24823 introduced its new carrier-class Access60
HDI High-Density Integrated Access Device (IAD) to enable carriers
to provide business customers with VoIP (Voice over IP), IP Centrex
and other IP data services over existing TDM circuit-switched T1 or
Ethernet network infrastructures.

platform that resides at the demarcation point between the

Access60 HDI supports PPP and MLPPP (multi-link PPP) interfaces

like a single high-bandwidth pipe over which IP voice and data can
be combined. It also supports Frame Relay over T1, and an Ethernet
uplink on the carrier side for use by next generation carriers,
cable companies and other service providers with IP backbones.

Laptop Computers The Access 60 HDI is a high-density multi-service IAD. Unlike
other IADs, the Access60 HDI's approach to service delivery and
transport is modular and scaleable. It need only be equipped with
the service delivery and uplink modules that are currently needed.
As bandwidth demands increase or new services are required, the
appropriate service module can easily be added. It also offers
Lifeline service to provide voice services even in cases of outage
or VoIP network failure.

fragmentation; and multi-link PPP (MLPPP) (RFC 1990) over Frame
Relay fragmentation.
