Telco Systems Introduces Integrated Access Device to Support Carrier Migration Strategy to Enable Provision of VoIP, IP Centrex, IP Data Services to Business Customers

FOXBORO, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 21, 2004--To support carrier migration strategies from circuit-switched to packet switched IP services, Telco Systems today at the SUPERCOMM telecommunications trade show booth 24823 introduced its new carrier-class Access60 HDI High-Density Integrated Access Device (IAD) to enable carriers to provide business customers with VoIP (Voice over IP), IP Centrex and other IP data services over existing TDM circuit-switched T1 or Ethernet network infrastructures.
"We expect the Access60 HDI to play an extremely important role in carrier migration strategies to enable them to use their legacy circuit-switched telephony infrastructure to provide enterprise VoIP and IP services to business customers," said Irit Gillath, Telco Systems' Vice President of IP Product Line Management. "Similarly, the Access60 HDI will also enable an enterprise to continue to use their legacy telephone equipment and still take advantage of the benefits of VoIP and other IP services."

Laptop Battery The Access 60 HDI is an extremely flexible carrier-class platform that resides at the demarcation point between the enterprise and the carrier network. On the carrier side, the Access60 HDI supports PPP and MLPPP (multi-link PPP) interfaces that permit the combining of multiple T1 circuits into what acts like a single high-bandwidth pipe over which IP voice and data can be combined. It also supports Frame Relay over T1, and an Ethernet uplink on the carrier side for use by next generation carriers, cable companies and other service providers with IP backbones.

Whether you want to secure your laptop, digital camera, computer case, or any device with a security slot, 1 Cable Locking System provides the protection you need.

Thinkpad Telco Systems new Access60 HDI can initially be deployed as a TDM Integrated Access Device and, unlike other IADs, be upgraded to support enterprise VoIP services with a remote software download.

Microsoft "This single-box solution breaks down the barriers of voice or data-only and TDM or IP-only networks and opens up new revenue streams," said Ms. Gillath. "It provides RBOCs, CLECs, ISPs, ILECs, and IXCs a seamless migration path from TDM-based services to IP while using their existing legacy telephony infrastructure."

It need only be equipped with the service delivery and uplink modules that are currently needed. As bandwidth demands increase or new services are required, the appropriate service module can easily be added. It also offers Lifeline service to provide voice services even in cases of outage or VoIP network failure.

"I am pleased to announce Ola's promotion, " said Kent Heyman, Migo's CEO. "Ola has been an outstanding contributor to the growth of Migo, and he is key to the anticipated launch of products developed from the RoundhouseTM Content Mobility Platform, our new, integrated technology expected to fuel the mobilization, access and consumption of content across a wide variety of synchronized mobile devices, computers and online services. This initiative is core to Migo's strategy of providing content mobility, access and device connectivity and is expected to drive growth in 2008."

Laptop Computer The high-density carrier-class Access60 HDI provides up to 48 FXS voice ports in a compact chassis of only 3 Rack Units (RUs), which can be wall or rack-mounted. The new Telco Systems' IAD is NEBS-compliant and offers redundant power supplies. Moreover, it can be configured with up to 6 hot-swappable service modules in the compact chassis that can fit any LAN/WAN/PBX configuration.

USB devices can be shared over the network using a PC as a host server, but this requires complicated configurations and for the computer to be running all the time. Avoid this problematic solution with a simplier one! Simply plug in your USB device and your four computers and you're done.

Desktop Computer Its flexible uplink options include T1 and 10/100BaseT Ethernet (for direct connection to an external broadband modem). Customer interfaces are 10/100BaseT to the LAN, FXS/FXO analog interfaces, and PRI/RBS T1 to provide VoIP connectivity to an existing PBX.

Notebooks It can combine TDM and packetized-voice with data traffic onto T1 or Ethernet circuits, and can provide VoIP connectivity to an existing legacy PBX. It also supports connectivity between multiple Access60 HDIs for cost-effective branch office connectivity.

Lenovo The new Telco Systems IAD provides superior VoIP voice quality with Quality of Service (QoS) features that include: Telco Systems' advanced jitter buffer management algorithms; voice priority over data (IEEE 802.1p); TOS marking; UDP and TCP MLPPP packet fragmentation; and multi-link PPP (MLPPP) (RFC 1990) over Frame Relay fragmentation.
