GDC 2004: Wind Waker 2; Award Winners
Laptop Battery With its 18th event in 2004, the Game Developers Conference in San Jose's Convention Center provides an independent forum for game developers around the world to share their ideas, maintain business, and simply show off their latest development tools and hardware. Although meager in the software department, the GDC has been known as the "appetizer to E3", with development hints and rumors running rampant on the show floor. On Wednesday, GCA attended the event bringing in their own GCA SF Team consisting of:
Sean O'Neill - GCA Co-Owner / PR Director Ray Almeda - GCA News Team Leader Robert Miller - GCA Media Director Eric Topf - GCA News Editor

Thinkpad GDC 2004 Entrance .......... Nintendo's small and only booth Most of you are thinking to yourselves: "What new stuff does Nintendo have in store for us?" The answer to that question may seem a bit far-fetched however, as Nintendo's main booth at E3 was a simple job recruitment booth. Still, we searched far and wide (even realizing we knew there wouldn't be any good signs in the first place) for anything... Nintendo. Around 4 PM, Nintendo held a conference session in the Game Theatre Room. Hosting and presenting "The Evolution of a Franchise: The Legend of Zelda" would be Nintendo's very own, Eiji Aonuma, also known as the Director of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Being a simple, yet expansive lecture and demonstration on all things Zelda from its history to its gameplay roots, the Aonuma event revealed several interesting tidbits: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker 2 (Tentative Title) is officially confirmed to be in development, with Aonuma being the project's producer (as he will be for the next slew of Zelda games apparently). Although this bumps Miyamoto from the position, Aounuma reiterated that Miyamoto is still the final word on all things Zelda. Aonuma also noted that he's bringing "a new development in the Zelda franchise," as we'll "hear more at E3." Wind Waker 2 is set for a 2XXX release, not "200X" as some sites have been reporting. Possiblity of future Zelda evolutions on the upcoming Nintendo DS
Disk imaging is just one of the functions that Acronis True Image Server provides. It also does disk backups, disk deployment (formatting and partitioning) and disk wiping, but the disk backup feature alone is worth the price. PC World Award Acronis True Image 8.0 received the Winner Award from Personal Computer World
Microsoft Blurry, but Wind Waker 2 official .......... Miyamoto SLAP - now who can that be? Immediatly after the presentation, we headed straight for the San Jose Civic Auditorium, the venue for this year's 4th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards. An event designed to recognize the very best in the game development industry, winners and finalists are chosen by neighboring developers themselves.
shaded sequel to the Wind Waker that many are wondering just what happened upon seeing a new "realistic" Zelda at this years E3. IGN managed to get a few comments from Nintendo about the new Zelda. According to Nintendo, this new version of Zelda is in fact running on a modified version of the Wind Waker game engine. This new game is also NOT a remake, and is an entirely new and original story in the Zelda universe.
