API Software best in health-care customer satisfaction, says KLAS report

Laptop Battery By Les Chappell • 09/20/04 HARTFORD, Wis. API Software announced on Monday that for the second year in a row they have been named top time and attendance application in the KLAS rankings of health information technology vendor performance. In the mid-year rankings API received the highest possible distinction in customer satisfaction, scoring between 15 and 20 percent higher than its competitors in terms of detail and business indicators and demonstrating an overall 3 percent increase from last year.

The KLAS reports are published every year, providing a Top 20 report on client satisfaction in the IT field. Based on surveys of IT executives and monitoring of health-care products, the reports choose the leading suppliers in over 20 fields. API fits into the specialty niche products category, which addresses health-care software in areas such as nurse scheduling and attendance management.

We use [KLAS] as a competitive management tool that guides our services, said Luis Garcia, CEO of API. Because a great portion of healthcare subscribers look at it for purchasing software, we use it to see what we can do.

The product specifically recognized by KLAS for its rating was the Payrollmation software, which is designed for time and attendance data collection. It provides employees full-time access to pay information, allows managers to work with real-time information, and gives supervisors the capability to report on productivity.

Garcia credited the success of the KLAS ranking to the fact that Payrollmation provided exactly what it promised to users.

To me, its a simple formula, Garcia said. If we get the top score, we have to have a product that does what it says its going to do ... thats essentially the bottom line.
