This technique uses a collection of technologies including XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript and is often used to create richer user experiences on the web. Ajax applications are asynchronous, which means they can exchange data with the server independent of the loading and reloading of the entire web page. The result is a more interactive, engaging experience for users. Unfortunately, creating Ajax applications presents some difficult technical challenges. For example, there are many frameworks and user interface element libraries, and it is not easy to connect the client-side code with server-side resources such as databases.
