security software and services, today announced an agreement with
MSN to provide antivirus scanning and cleaning protection for the
MSN Hotmail Web-based services 187 million email accounts with
Trend Micros award-winning technology. Customers of Microsofts
web-based email service will receive automatic protection anytime
they send and receive email attachments via Trend Micros scanning
and detection services for a safer Internet experience.
MSN is focused on providing a safer online experience for
consumers, and we continue to make investments in this area. Were
pleased to work with Trend Micro, with its deep antivirus
expertise, to expand the email protection of our Hotmail customers,

Microsoft Corp. Today MSN Hotmail is the only free global email
service that provides antivirus scanning and cleaning for its
customers. We see this offering as important in helping protect our
Hotmail customers while also guarding members of the overall
Hotmail community and the friends and family they email.
2. Scan your computer using an antivirus program. If you have an antivirus program installed in your computer (Norton®, McAfee®, AVG®, Speed Security Suite®, etc.), download the latest virus definition first before running the scan on your pc. If your antivirus is expired, you will not be able to download the latest virus definition and it is recommended that you do not scan your pc with an expired antivirus program. Contact the antivirus vendor for additional information.

6. Perform a local virus scan using an emergency rescue disk. Many antivirus programs allow you to create an emergency rescue disk to use in the event your computer becomes infected. When you boot from your rescue disk, the antivirus program will scan your computer for viruses before your operating system loads. Performing this process will give your antivirus program access to files that may have been locked by the operating system. Refer to your antivirus help files for assistance with creating an emergency disk or contact the antivirus vendor.

NAV 11.0 features a nooze button scan, if you are in the middle of watching a movie on the computer, the virus scan can be rescheduled for a more convenient time. Norton AntiVirus 11 for Mac features can be accessed via the Terminal, allowing power users to bypass the application completely and add antivirus scans and other capabilities to their own custom scripts.

individual consumers who are looking for protection from viruses,
spam, spyware and other threats. Due to the increased availability
of broadband, wireless, and residential gateway technologies being
adopted by many consumers, Trend Micro recently introduced the
latest enhanced version of its premier desktop antivirus and
content security solution, Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security
2005, which was quickly named CNETs Editors Choice (November 2004)
for its comprehensive security against Internet-based threats such
as viruses, spam, spyware, hackers and phishing scams.
According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.

If you do not have antivirus software, you can scan your computer with an online virus scan (OLS). OLS will scan computer for malware and vulnerabilities. Scans can take 30 to 60 minutes to run depending on the speed of the connection and the number of files to be scanned.
