The time it takes to backup and restore a server image will really be dependent on the media used, the speed of the hard drive and the speed of the network if used with that type of storage device. When tested in our lab for performance we averaged about 2. gigabytes per minute using RPM SATA2 hard drive with fairly large file sizes. Your access server will use an octal cable to connect to the other routers and switches in your home lab. The octal cable has one large serial connector that will connect to the access server, 45 connectors that will connect to your other home lab devices. Your access server then needs an IP Host table in order to perform reverse telnet.
