Clear Technologies Expands Service Offerings to Include Linux and Veritas

Tom Large Joins the Clear Team and Will Take the Lead on Linux and Veritas Opportunities

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 16, 2004--Clear Technologies today announced the hire of a Linux and Veritas product expert Tom Large. The move into these markets addresses Clear's need to better service their client base and to secure additional market share for the company's IBM eServer Division. As the company adds to their already robust service offerings, Clear's strategy for expanding its presence in Texas and delivering complete support is still at the forefront of their overall business strategy, but with the added advantage of supporting both Linux and Veritas infrastructures.
"We're investing in Linux and Veritas because we see the market exploding in these areas and Tom will be the key engineer supporting both," said Van Symons, President of Clear Technologies. Tom comes to Clear Technologies with an impressive background that includes seven years of systems engineering/architecture and project management at the senior level for large, commercial and industrial companies integrating Linux and Veritas products into their production environment. "His diverse UNIX, Veritas high availability, and large enterprise experience allows us to meet all of our customers' IT infrastructure requirements in the most efficient manor," said Symons. "We are excited that Tom has joined our world class team."

At Clear Technologies, Tom's primary responsibility will focus on services where he sees a great opportunity for availability and performance management. "From a Linux perspective, this means affordable clustering solutions, reliable application environments that can run on Intel-based hardware, and proven technology that is already driving the majority percentages for email, web hosting and network security across the globe," said Tom Large, Lead Open Systems Architect for Clear Technologies. "From a Veritas perspective, it means having access to a series of software packages that can manage a client's data as a whole."
