Revolution Specs Leaked?
GamesIndustry.biz reported earlier that a new set of specs for the Revolution have hit the 'net. These specs supposedly come from a developer currently working on a DS game, but we are reporting this as a rumor so take them with a one gigantic grain of salt. The one comment we can make is that these specs seems a little more down to earth than the earlier rumored specs, but that doesn't make them accurate.
According to the rumor, the specs for the Revolution are as follows:
Two 1.8 Ghz IBM Power PC G5 CPUs
600 Mhz ATI graphics chip with 12 MB of high speed RAM on board
7.1 digital sound chipset
128 MB of high speed 1T-SRAM
256 MB of SRAM
The disc format of Revolution, according to the same rumor, is said to be a proprietary Panasonic designed 6GB DVD-sized disc.
If these specs turn out to be accurate, the Revolution won't have quite as much horsepower as the PS3 or Xbox 360, but will still be a significant leap over the GameCube. Remember, this is still just a rumor. AMN will be sticking to Revolution news like glue, so stay with us for more coverage soon.
