Standard Networks reports 125% growth in software revenues

Laptop Battery By Joe Vanden Plas • 04/10/06 Madison Standard Networks, Inc., a Madison software developer, achieved its 68th consecutive profitable quarter during the first three months of 2006, thanks largely to a 125 percent boost in income from its MOVEit electronic file and message transfer management products.

Citing its privately held status, Meeker declined to provide actual sales numbers for MOVEit, but said Standard Network's overall revenues increased by 60 percent in 2005. The company employs less than 25 people.

Scott Meeker, director of sales & marketing for Standard Networks, attributed the growth to enhanced reporting and a new suite of free, secure transfer clients from the MOVEit DMZ transfer and storage server, and the addition of commercially licensed file encryption to the MOVEit Central managed file transfer client.

Founded in 1989, the privately held Standard Networks launched the line of software products in 2001. It develops and supports the software for licensees in the Americas, Australia, and Europe.

While most laptops today feature integrated wireless connectivity, that is, they already have everything they need to connect to a wireless connection, some do require the use of a plug in card. standard PCMCIA (Personal Computer Memory Card International Association) slots on your laptop (the PCMCIA slots are the little doors on the side of your laptop which are about the width of a mobile phone and around half a centimetre thick). Once the card is plugged in and set up (youa ll need to install appropriate driver software), youa ll be able to connect to a wireless network.
