Trying To Catch Up, and Virtualization on OSX

This laptop is a new discovery. Thank goodness they decided to share it. Once the word spreads, it will be next to impossible to see it again.
I should also introduce my friends to take a look at of this:
I'm about to go on the road again and I've been getting my laptop updated to make sure I can function without internet access. For me that means that I need a linux environment. I've been using Parallels for this because it was the only option when I first got my macbook, and I'm not terribly impressed with its ability to run linux virtual machines. First I have to say that my preferred usage for vms is to disable as much graphical UI as possible and login using the terminal; I want to avoid .. full post.

I have desperately been wanting to post as there is So. Much. GOING. ON. Nevertheless the whole, um, GOING-ON-ness (New word, thanks to me), has prevented me from connecting with my laptop. Or you guys. I am overwhelmed with emotions about this weekend and will spare you the squeals of "IT'S SO AWESOME" (even though it really and truly is).
